Thank you for visiting Garry Holman’s American Freestyle Karate, based in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Founded by Master Garry Holman, AFK is a martial arts training center, directly associated with programs such as Karate World Training Centers, and the National Organization of Registered Martial Arts League. (N.O.R.M.A.L.)

Since 2001, American Freestyle Karate has been sharing the martial arts with the community, by combining traditional martial arts techniques and concepts with modern elements of sport karate and self defense.

American Freestyle Karate is about improving peoples lives through the martial arts. However we realize people have lives to live, therefore AFK has NO CONTRACTS to lock you into paying for a program you or your child isn’t using.

At American Freestyle Karate, the focus of the curriculum is to give students of all ages a quality program that is practical and inspires discipline, confidence and a sense of sportsmanship.

The primary curriculum is the Martial Art of Jung Sim Do (the straight mind way), a korean art that combines styles of Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do and Judo.

American Freestyle Karate follows the tradition and belief that any true martial artist can, not only perform the curriculm they have learned, but also pass it on to others.

Because of this, the instructors of AFK are all students who have achieved their Black Belts from Jung Sim Do Korean Karate Federation, Grandmaster Sun Cheung or under one of the Holman brothers two of Masters Cheungs' longest active instructors.
